For Women who have lost their sex drives, or are feeling a decrease in orgasmic potential, the idea of any sort of “fix” seems to oversimplify a bigger problem; it’s easier to lose your sex drive than to simply find it again. Enter The O-Shot.

The O-shot is an in-office treatment offered every 6-12 months, in which PRP is used to regenerate blood vessels that supply the clitoris and surrounding nerves. Women across the country are seeing this procedure kick their sex drive into high gear.

For even better results, we can use umbilical cord derived growth factors called “Vitti Pure”.

A More Vibrant Orgasm From A Quick and Simple Procedure

Featured in a recent issue of Cosmo magazine, we invite you to learn all about this revitalizing treatment offered at Complete Midlife Wellness Center.

How It Works

It starts with your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP), rich in growth factors and cytokines that can repair and regenerate tissue, blood vessels, and nerves in your body. Some of the growth factors include:

  • Platelet-derived growth factors
  • Transforming growth factor-beta
  • Fibroblast growth factor
  • Vascular endothelial growth factor
  • Epidermal growth factor
  • Interleukin 8
  • Keratinocyte growth factor
  • Connective tissue growth factor

PRP is derived from blood taken from your own arm and injected into the clitoral gland and clitoral body, as well as into the anterior vaginal wall where the proliferation of nerves called the G-spot exists. The PRP stimulates the growth of new cells, vessels, collagen, and fibroblasts in this area, making it more sensitive and healthy.

While this is a relatively new treatment, thousands of patients are already seeing success with the injection. Over 500,000 procedures involving the injection of PRP into various parts of the body have been performed with no significant side effects or complications reported.

As we age, growth factors reduce in number and the procedure may be less effective. In this case you may choose umbilical cord derived growth factors called “Vitti Pure” which have up to 100x more growth factors.

FAQ’s

Many years of data using PRP for treatment of orthopedic injuries and wound healing has shown without question that PRP injections improve vascularization wherever they are used. PRP is now used in multiple applications including in the scalp to help regenerate hair and in the face to create a more youthful appearance. Studies from the O-shot itself have shown significant improvement in sexual function for the great majority of women.

As a patient myself I can tell you that those shot absolutely improved my sexual function dramatically and I would never offer a procedure to a patient that I had not tried myself. What we can promise is that the O-shot will improve vascularization, blood flow and sensitivity to the clitoris- but as we know libido is complicated, and if we’re in a relationship that is toxic or have other reasons why we’re not having sex, it won’t fix that, and we need to take a multi factorial approach.

Any woman is a good candidate for an O-shot if she is feeling that her libido is decreasing or if she wants to improve sensitivity with sex. While the most common group of women seeking this procedure are over 40, many women under 40 can also benefit.

It’s important to understand that this doesn’t fix everything, so we want to make sure that we are addressing your hormone balance and relationship health at the same time. If you are postmenopausal and have not been on hormone replacement I would recommend that you create a healthy vaginal and clitoral environment first with hormones before using the O-shot, because it simply will not work well in an environment where there has been long-term atrophy. A consultation prior to the pre-procedure is extremely important to make sure that you are a good candidate, and that this is something that does not need to be treated first with other modalities such as hormone replacement.

The first thing that we do when you come in for your procedure is applied very strong topical lidocaine to the areas that will be injected and have you wait for at least 20 minutes before injecting some more local lidocaine. Because the area has already been numbed this injection usually is barely perceptible. While we’re waiting for the lidocaine to work our nurse will draw your blood and prepare the platelet rich plasma which takes about 30 minutes- so by the time we’re ready for the injection you have had plenty of time for the tissue to become completely numb in the areas that are injected. When we follow this routine most patients experience just a sensation of pressure as the PRP is injected into the tissue which is slightly uncomfortable but not painful in the PRP injection itself only takes about three minutes.

You can expect to be in the office for about an hour when you have an O-shot since it takes about 30 minutes to prepare the PRP and we want to allow plenty of time to make sure that your numb for the injections

Regeneration of new blood vessels takes time, so biopsies have shown that the maximum results occur about 12 weeks after the PRP injections. Many women feel a great improvement and sensitivity almost immediately however, which comes not from the PRP itself but simply from the fact that the tissue is expanded with the injection of about 10 mL of PRP into this highly-sensitive area.

Once the blood vessel regeneration has kicked in at about three months, the results usually are perceptible for 6 to 12 months. If you’re feeling great, we recommend repeating the procedure annually and if you feel the results wearing off more quickly we can repeat the procedure as often as every six months.

You can drive yourself home, return to work, go to the gym and even have sex the same day- there is essentially no downtime. Your vaginal area will feel numb for a couple of hours and then might feel a little sore, bruised or swollen for a few days- but you don’t need to change your activities at all unless you feel uncomfortable. Most patients experience mild bleeding which can be managed with a very light panty liner for the first couple of hours.

Since the benefits come from bloodflow we want to do activities that increase blood flow to the vaginal area which include having sex, using a vibrator (especially ones that includes sections such as the VUSH) using vasodilating lubricants, or even having concurrent procedures such as the Cliovana or ThermiVa procedures which can dramatically improve the benefits from PRP since they caused microscopic tissue damage allowing the PRP to enter more easily into the tissue.

O-shot is a branded procedure offered only by physicians who have had extensive training by the founder of the O-shot procedure and should never be done by someone who has not received this training. I would recommend having your procedure done by a very experienced gynecologist who has done many of the procedures in his probably had one themselves so that they can talk to you realistically about what to expect. Here at Complete Midlife Wellness Center we can provide the O-shot in a safe and highly experienced environment done only by women who have had the procedure done themselves.
